Misano 12-hour endurance race upcoming

23 May 2025

This weekend, Valters Zviedris will continue his fight in the “24H Series” endurance championship, competing in the “12H Misano” stage in Italy. In addition to the usual tandem of Latvian Valters Zviedris and Estonian Martin Rump, this time Rolando Saca from El Salvador has also joined the “Mühlner Motorsport” team, creating a very international line-up of drivers.

After the first two stages, in which several failures were experienced, the “Mühlner Motorsport” team is in fifth place overall, however, both the drivers and the team are determined to complete the race without incidents and finally show a result corresponding to the speed. Let us remind you that in the first stage in Mugello, a half-hour before the finish, a half-axle defect was experienced, while in the Spa-Francorchamps stage, an accident occurred on the first lap, after which considerable time was lost in repairs.

Although the total number of participants in the Misano round is lower than in previous races, the “992” class, where Valters is racing, will still have nine teams on the grid, including all the season leaders. An exciting fact is that this will be the first round this season in which all 12 hours of racing will be held without interruption, as both Mugello and Spa-Francorchamps were split into two races. This is expected to be a significant challenge for both the drivers and the racing equipment.

“Misano is the only track on this year’s calendar that I haven’t driven at, so there’s a nice excitement, because driving on a new track is always exciting and challenging. We also have a new driver in the team for this weekend, we got to meet him, talk to him and find out that he has a lot of experience with the “Porsche 911 GT3 CUP” cars. In training, all three of us need to find the right car settings together, so that we can show good results starting with qualifying. Although the first stages haven’t gone as well as we wanted, we are optimistic because we know that with our speed we can fight for the top positions,” says Valters Zviedris before the upcoming race.

The Latvian pilot also wants to thank his supporters, without whom the start in the “24H Series” championship would not be possible: “Many thanks to my reliable partners “Baltijas Sporta Auto – Porsche Latvija”, “Optibet Latvija”, “iPS Media”, “Industry Service Partner”, Jūrmala, “Blue Shock Race”, ”Joker klubs”, “Energolukss”, “I-Con” and SIA “Dārta”.”

Today, training and qualifications are being held at the Misano track, while the “12H Misano” competition will start on Saturday morning at 10:30 Latvian time. As usual, the competition will be available to watch live on YouTube.

More information about the “24H Series” championship is available on their website www.24hseries.com, while you can follow Valters Zviedris’ racing progress on his social media profiles on Facebook and Instagram.
