On the way to the USA

On October 19-21 in Las Vegas, United States of America Valters will attend “Legend Cars World Finals”, representing Latvia together with Garijs Rožkalns. In Las Vegas Motor Speedway both drivers will compete in “Semi-Pro” class.

Valters had a lot of thinking, whether to compete in Las Vegas with Legend Cars, or to compete with Formula 4 in Assen, Netherlands in the last round of SMP NEZ F4 Championship, as both competitions are in the same dates. The decision was really hard to make, but Valters has chosen to compete for the victory in Legend Cars World Finals.

Valters has been the youngest driver in Finland and NEZ Legend Car championships. He didn’t compete in all Finland championship rounds, because some of them were in the same time as Latvian Karting Championship, where the 5th title has been won this year. That’s why Valters is going to USA without any INEX rating points, but with big determination and pride to represent Latvia.

“We have bought 860 Motorsport prepared “Legend Car big boy” version, because the existing car is too small for me already. This car was meant to be for Pekka Seppanen, Finnish semi-champion, but due to various reasons he can’t go to USA for the Finals, so the car got into market. We saw it and decided to buy it. The goal is to win the race in “Semi-Pro” class, of course”, tells the 17-year old Valters Zviedris. (Photo of the new Legend car on the right)

The Finnish Legend Car Championship, where both Latvian drivers are competing this year, is considered to be one of the most competitive in the world. This will be the first experience competing in USA for both drivers.

Last year, Legend Cars World Finals took place in Finland, Botniaring track, where between 77 drivers competed 4 Latvians – Valters Zviedris, who won 4th place in “Semi-Pro” class. Garijs Rožkalns held 5th place. Pro class was represented by Uldis Timaks, but Masters class – by Jānis Horeliks.
