Latvian race driver Valters Zviedris representing the team “LV Racing” won the “BMW 325 Cup” class at the “Parnu Summer Race” in Pärnu on the “Porsche Ring” track, where the third stage of the Baltic Touring Car Championship was held.

At the moment, one of the hottest events in Baltic motorsport is the “BMW 325 Cup” class race, which usually gathers more than 40 participants for one stage of the competition. This time as well, it was not without various incidents and very watchable battles on the track.

On Friday evening, qualifying races were held, in which Lithuanian pilot Edvins Žadeikis was the fastest, Valters Zviedris was second, and last year’s champion Karolis Jovaiša from Lithuania was third. The 26 fastest drivers were determined in the qualifying races, while the 10 places in Saturday’s races had to be won in the semi-final race on Friday evening.

In Saturday’s final race, Edvinas Zadeikis keeps the first starting place, but Karolis Jovaiša overtakes Valter Zviedris, who quickly puts a lot of pressure until he passes the Lithuanian in the middle part of the race and starts to catch the leader Zadeikis. During a couple of laps, both drivers show an exciting fight for first place, with Zadeikis entering the finish line first. Second Valters Zviedris, third Jovaiša.

Valters Zviedris starts the second race from the first position and manages to get a good start, closely followed by Karolis Jovais and Edvins Zadeikis. However, a heavy crash on the third lap brings the race to a halt. After the restart, the usual trio of leaders is preserved and they finished as follows – Zviedris, Jovaiša, Zadeikis.

According to the preliminary results, Valters Zviedris is the first, Edvinas Zadeikis is the second, and Karolis Jovaisa is the third in the absolute ranking of the sum of the two races.
