The first round “DeWALT Grand Prix” of the North European Zone, Latvian, Estonian and Baltic Touring Car Championship will take place at the weekend of 29 April – 1 May 2022 in Bikernieki race track (Riga, Latvia). More than 100 participants from the Baltic States and Finland will gather to fight for the podiums in different categories, such as BMW 325 CUP, TCR, 6-hour endurance race, Porsche GT CUP, and others.
This season, Valters Zviedris will take part in the BMW 325 CUP, which gathers the most participants and promises to include fierce battles. It is expected that around 36 drivers will compete in this class, including Matiss Mezaks, Uldis Timaks, Rihards Subeckis, and others from all the three Baltic States. This year, Valters will continue representing the team “LV Racing”.
On 17 April, ahead of the championship season, a Test day took place on Bikernieki race track. Valters shared his emotions after the tests:
“Before the first tests I was a little worried about how It would be and how fast I would be, but after the first three laps I realized that I had not forgotten how to race. The car was perfectly prepared and I was very satisfied with it. I looked fast on the track, but we have to wait for the race day and qualification, it will reveal how fast we and the others will be. I’m glad I can start racing this year, also good is the fact that there are team members to talk with and help each other. Thanks to the whole LV RACING team and my supporters, without these finances we would not be able to show others how this right pedal should be pushed!”
Valters expresses thanks to Jurmala City Council for sponsoring participation costs for many years, and to other supporters – SIA “Optibet”, “Gatorz Eyewear Europe”, “Blue Shock Race”, “Joker Klubs”, ”I-Con”, “Rosenso Marketing”, “IAuto.lv” and others.
